NEXT ALBUM DONE!

New album is now fully mixed and being mastered.

Hey,

So I just wanted to give an update of what I’ve been up to. I’ve been WORKING…..HARD!!

I am basically super close to the end line with my new album. This one has been quite the journey. I started work on this album in March 2023 and have been working on it steadily for these last 2 years. So what can I tell you?

Well it’s a concept I’ve have since I started making music as a teenager, so to see it final getting close to a reality feels like a real feat. Basically when I finished my last album “BLIP” with

NAHreally

on Rucksack Records, I asked Danny (owner of Rucksack) what should I do next. His reply was simple. Instead of another [MC] & The Expert album, this time I think it should just focus on you and be a ‘The Expert’ album. Sounded like a great idea…..If only I’d know how difficult it would actually be! (snippet below of what it felt like making it)

So I’m delighted to say that my first ever ‘producer’ album is finally on the way. It’s going to be about 40 minutes long and will have 20+ MCs featured on it. It is very much an evolution of the sound I have been working on for the last few albums. It’s also very much a celebration of all the wonderful things going on in the current indie hip hop scene that I love. It is also an ode to all the wonderful hip hop producer albums I have enjoyed over the years (some from my stash below).

This album is a huge labour of love - of all the styles, sounds, artists, little fine details I enjoy in hip hop. It has often felt like this album was never going to end but it has reached a point where I am now happy to retire it and STOP.

I just finished mixing it and am about to send it off to get mastered and also finalize the artwork. The visual journey has also been super interesting and different than before. Hoping that the first single from the album should be out in summertime.

Oh also - I’m going to be playing a live show in May. Now that is not a sentence I thought I would be writing this year but something just feels right about this opportunity. More details to come on that shortly too.
